Four lectures on Harwitz's career in meteorology, covering his early childhood; education in Germany at Universität Leipzig; the Norwegian school of meteorology; travels to Norway and to the U.S.; immigration to Canada in 1935; appointment to the faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1941; teaching Air Force and Navy students; and New York University chairmanship. File also includes many characterizations of scientists and descriptions of early meteorological history sprinkled with anecdotes that are often very amusing.
